PRESS CLUB VISITING VINTNERS February 2012:
Anaba Wines
Our exclusive Anaba wines are handcrafted from the best Rhône and Burgundian grape varieties grown at our Carneros Estate vineyard and in selected outstanding vineyard properties throughout Sonoma County. Our Rhône-style wines are artistic blends, inspired by the rugged earthiness of France's Rhône Valley and replicated in the rocky Sonoma soils. Our Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs reflect the elegance and grace of the gently sloping vineyards found in Burgundy, crafted from similar sites in the Sonoma Coast and Carneros appellations.
2009 Coriol White Rhone-Style Blend: 14 / 56
Complex aromas of white peach and lemon peel emanate from this rich wine. Our medium bodied Rhone style blend is laden with notes of green melon, floral nuances, citrus, and a subtle mineral note. A blend of 49% Roussanne, 27% Viognier, 15% Grenache Blanc and 9% Marsanne.
2010 "Turbine" Pink, Sonoma: 14 / 55
Dry and light-bodied, with notes of red grapefruit, ripe strawberries, fresh ginger, and a light tropical note. Handcrafted in stainless steel from 100% Grenache grapes.
2008 Coriol Red Rhone-Style Blend: 19 / 76
Our ‘Coriol’ red blend, containing 28% Mourvèdre, 28% Syrah, 26% Petite Sirah and 18% Grenache, is our signature red- combining the luscious California fruit and the great tradition of French Rhone blends, such as Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Crisp and fresh, this mediumto full-bodied red Rhône blend is dominated in the nose by rich black fruits and complex coffee aromas. Geranium, cassis, and cherry jam nuances linger as flavors of plum and blackberry fruit lead to a long finish of vanilla and silky tannins. Our crisp and fresh ‘Coriol’ Red is an ideal companion for food.

Hobo Wine Company
The Hobo Wine Company is the brainchild, side job, menace to the wine industry, hedged bet, cash strain, mental anguish, late night musing, bruised hands, dirty t-shirts, and constant companion of Kenny Likitprakong. Despite knowing better, he started his own label in 2002 with the simple idea to have some good fun.
2011 Gewürztraminer, Monterey County: 10 / 40
In 2010, we started sourcing our Gewürztraminer from Ventana Vineyards in the Arroyo Seco AVA of Monterey.Lychee, tropical fruits and flowers as wells as exotic spices and honeysuckle round out the mouthfeel with a balance of fruit and acid.
2009 Folk Machine Pinot Noir, Central Coast: 16 / 64
The ‘09 Incarnation of the Folk Machine Cental Coast Pinot Noir is elegant, pretty, drinkable, and fun. Though light in color, due to no attempt to extract or over manipulate, the wine does not lack flavor or body, but rather shows the silky more subtle side of the variety.
2009 Branham Vineyard Zinfandel, Rockpile: 19 / 76
Typical with the last few vintages, the ‘09 Rockpile Zinfandel is 70% from the old block of Gary Branham’s Vineyard and 25% from the new planting of Primitivo, Dupratt, and Dempel Clones plus 5% Petite Sirah. A bit of a return to the style we had in ‘05 with more rustic tannins and a darker more briary fruit charcter. Still, dark and concentrated and more of a claret style than is typical these days.
